GPU Value Calculator
This page is the graphics card market and a value calculator in one. Prices come from the checked offers of this market snapshot; Value ranks them under the priorities you set — or not at all, if you only want the prices.
Total cost of ownership
A cheaper card can cost more over its life. Include three years of electricity at your own rate, and Value compares the true price, not just the sticker.
New, refurbished and used
Add the refurbished and used offers we track, or your own find from a marketplace, and see where it sits in the same market as new cards.
Your priorities, your ranking
No generic top ten. Pick a use case or set the weights yourself — price, performance, ray tracing, VRAM, power — and the ranking follows them.
How to find the best deal
Narrow the market
Use the filters for your budget, video memory, power and size. Every filter shows how many products are left.
Tune your priorities
Choose a use case such as 1440p gaming or AI, or customise the weights. Grades show whether a card is strong enough for the job; Value shows how good the price is.
Check the offers — and your own price
Open a product's offers to compare retailers, or click any price and try the one you were offered: its Value appears against the same market.
Frequently asked questions
How is Value calculated?
Value is a relative score from 0 to 100 under the priorities you choose. Each weighted factor — performance, price, VRAM, power and so on — is compared with the rest of this market, the factors are combined, and the best result in the comparison reads 100. It is a measurement of the current market, not an official rating; the methodology page has the full formula.
What is the performance index based on?
A normalised index for comparing graphics cards across generations and architectures, built mainly from 1440p rasterisation benchmarks. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is calibrated to 1,000 points: a card with 2,000 is roughly twice as fast, one with 500 about half. Ray tracing and AI compute have indices of their own on the same scale.
Why include electricity?
Older or cheaper cards often draw far more power. The three-year energy cost uses four hours of daily load at the electricity rate you set (the market's default until you change it). A used card that costs less to buy can cost about the same once the power bill is counted.
How much video memory do I need?
Running out of VRAM causes stutter and blurry textures however fast the chip is. As a rule of thumb, 8 GB is the floor for 1080p, 12 GB suits 1440p, and 16 GB or more is for 4K and high-resolution textures. Filter by video memory, or require a grade for your resolution.
Is it safe to buy a used graphics card?
A used card can save a lot, but usually without a warranty. To check a listing, choose Add your deal (or click a price and Try your price), enter the price, set the condition to Used, and compare its Value with new cards that come with a warranty.
How often are prices updated?
Offers are refreshed as market snapshots; each offer shows when it was checked. Retail prices can change at any time, so confirm the final price on the retailer's site before buying.
