RAM Value Calculator

This page is the memory market and a value calculator in one. Prices come from the checked offers of this market snapshot; Value ranks them under the priorities you set — or not at all, if you only want the prices.

Capacity and generation first

Choose DDR4 or DDR5 for your platform and the capacity you need, then compare kits within them. Value never rewards gigabytes you did not ask for.

Speed and latency together

Transfer rate (MT/s) and CAS latency sit side by side, so a faster-looking kit with loose timings can be told from a balanced one.

Kits as they are sold

Each row is one kit — its capacity, speed, timings and number of modules — so two sticks of 16 GB and one stick of 32 GB are never mixed up.

How to find the best deal

  1. Narrow the market

Use the filters for your budget, memory generation, capacity and speed. Every filter shows how many kits are left.

  2. Tune your priorities

Choose a use case, or customise the weights. Grades show whether a kit is quick enough for the job; Value shows how good the price is.

  3. Check the offers — and your own price

Open a kit’s offers to compare retailers, or click any price and try the one you were offered: its Value appears against the same market.

Frequently asked questions

How is Value calculated?

Value is a relative score from 0 to 100 under the priorities you choose. Each weighted factor — performance, price, capacity and so on — is compared with the rest of this market, the factors are combined, and the best result in the current view scores 100. Turn priorities off to browse by price alone.

DDR4 or DDR5?

It is decided by your motherboard and processor, not by preference: a board takes one generation only. Filter by memory type to see the kits your platform can use.

What matters more, speed or latency?

Both. Real latency depends on the two together: a higher transfer rate with a proportionally higher CAS latency can respond no faster. Compare them side by side rather than looking at one number.

One module or two?

Most desktop platforms run fastest with two matched modules (dual channel). A kit lists its number of modules; filter by it if you plan to add memory later.

How often are prices updated?

Offers are refreshed as market snapshots; each offer shows when it was checked. Retail prices can change at any time, so confirm the final price on the retailer's site before buying.
