These terms apply to The Comparator’s 60-day Publisher Pilot. They supplement our Widget Terms and Terms of Use. If documents conflict, these terms control only the pilot.
1. What the pilot is
The Publisher Pilot is a manually supported evaluation before a paid Creator or Pro license. It is not the invite-only 12-month Founding Publisher Program and it is not a permanent free plan.
Applications are open to relevant hardware publishers with a live site, a suitable existing article and a clear contact. Acceptance is based on article fit and our current ability to support the requested widget; large traffic is not required.
2. What is included
For one approved article and one domain, we prepare one supported live iframe or static snapshot, help with the first installation, assign a placement source tag and provide a short manual report using the production signals available for that placement. Every pilot widget keeps a visible data date, affiliate disclosure and โPowered by The Comparatorโ attribution.
The pilot does not include an API, guaranteed revenue or rankings, guaranteed refresh frequency, a service-level agreement, custom development or white-label rights.
3. Activation and duration
The 60-day period starts when The Comparator verifies the widget on the approved live article. Either party may remove or stop the pilot at any time. At the end of 60 days, Creator-only static exports, custom settings and pilot-specific access end unless both parties agree in writing to a current paid license or another arrangement.
4. Affiliate links
The publisher’s own Amazon Associates tag may be enabled only after The Comparator verifies that the current domain-bound license supports it and the publisher confirms that the tag is approved for that domain. Other affiliate IDs are reviewed case by case. Without approved publisher-ID support, Amazon calls to action use The Comparator’s normal deal-page routing.
The publisher remains responsible for its own affiliate-program compliance and page-level disclosures. The widget’s disclosure, data date and attribution must remain visible and unmodified.
5. No link purchase
Pilot access is offered to evaluate a real installation and collect product feedback. It is not payment for a dofollow link, search-ranking influence, positive coverage, an endorsement or a favorable review. A methodology link may be suggested only where it naturally helps readers and is always optional.
6. Reporting
Reports contain only signals that The Comparator can verify for the agreed placement. We do not promise impressions, conversions, commission revenue or sales attribution unless that measurement has been confirmed in writing before the pilot begins.
7. Removal and misuse
The publisher may remove the widget at any time. The Comparator may disable pilot access for domain misuse, affiliate-tag manipulation, hidden attribution or disclosure, misleading presentation, scraping, fraudulent traffic or other material violations of the Widget Terms.
