Roadmap
The Comparator is a market-research tool for PC hardware, and the direction is wider: more countries, more categories, and more places to use the same live market. No dates we cannot stand behind. When something ships, it moves to the changelog.
All of this is live today, on real offers, in two countries.
Happening this season
Fewer unknown specifications, and better coverage of the facts you filter and compare by.
More retailers in each market, so a comparison covers more of the places people actually buy from. Retailers can submit a product feed.
Fewer missing offers, and fewer products split into duplicate listings.
A plainer answer to “when was this price last seen?”, for every store and every offer.
Short explanations of grades, Value, specifications and technologies, right where they appear.
Less manual work behind each new store, country or category, so the product can grow faster.
The next big capabilities
Europe and other markets. Each market has its own stores, prices and currency, never prices borrowed from another country.
French joined English and Spanish in October. Your language should not decide which market you see: language and country are chosen separately.
Power supplies are already here. Cases and coolers come next, because a whole build needs them to check power, size and fit. Others follow where the data supports them.
Not only “this processor fits this socket”, but “will this whole upgrade work together?”: power, size and platform checked across parts.
More live market widgets, comparisons and the guided finder, simpler to put on your own site. Publishers can already embed them.
Directions we are preparing for
While you browse a store, compare the product in front of you with the current market.
Paste or import a retailer listing, a product page, a price or a used offer, and see where it sits in the market.
Current market, product and offer data in a form an AI assistant can read. Today you can already copy a comparison for AI.
You ask an AI assistant for help. It sends your criteria to The Comparator and gets back the facts it needs to answer you.
Monitors are now in beta; TVs are US-only for now. The same approach (facts, your priorities, current offers) could later cover phones, laptops and tablets. A direction, not a date.
Ideas with no promise attached
Letting a publisher present the tools as part of their own site.
Direct retailer APIs and richer data sources. A public data interface will not be promised until it exists. The Data & API page says what is available today.
Ways for an AI assistant to use The Comparator on your behalf, with you making the final call.
