What jobs we grade
- Gaming build. The features a gaming system uses: fast storage slots, networking, and power delivery for the chips it supports.
- Workstation. Connectivity, expansion and memory support.
- Small case. A practical mix of features for compact systems.
The grade describes fit for a build, not how many connectors a board has. Ranks are within one platform, because a board for one socket cannot stand in for another.
The filters that matter
- Socket and chipset. Which processors it takes and which features it enables.
- Memory type and slots. DDR4 or DDR5, and how many sticks.
- Form factor. ATX, Micro ATX or Mini-ITX. It must fit your case.
- M.2 slots, Wi-Fi and Ethernet speed. The connections you need.
Pick the processor first, then filter boards by its socket and your memory type.
Compatibility to check
Socket, memory type and form factor above. See Check compatibility.
What you will see in Explorer
One row per board with price, the grade for your build, Value and key facts. Some facts are missing from some boards’ listings. They show as not tracked, which does not mean the board lacks them.
Things to check outside The Comparator
- Which processors the board’s BIOS supports. Check the manufacturer’s support list.
- Power delivery quality in practice
- Case, cooler and expansion card clearance
